Closing duct runs that run past last vent

Cale, our opening is about 4 3/4". I think this vent is too small at 4 1/4". The 8840 aireport seems to be the right size.

I will give it a shot....the outside of the vent is something like 6.5 inches, so the screw holes may work...I can make a sleeve insert that can take up the slack. I will let you know.

I was tickled pink to find my 5th wheel duct work extended from one end of the trailer to the other. My ducts are just a cut out in the ceiling foam - not a PVC thing at all.

This is where I run my RF and VIDEO cables from the home entertainment center to get to the other points in the trailer. Both ends are accessible from ceiling cabinets with minor mods to the duct walls. Once inside the ceiling cabinets I was able to completely hide my RF and Video cables going to where they needed to go...

I have run several RF cables thru them. Pull down a couple of vents and fish the cables thru using each of the vents to pull the cables. When I get to the point I need to come out of the duct I seal off good with foam spray. My home entertainment center is almost at the center of the trailer and was easy to punch thru the duct wall to route cables from there. After the cables were installed then I sealed off good with foam spray. No added cables are visible anywhere in the trailer.

My added cables doesn't seem to bother the air flow any at all...

I suspect the lengths of the ducts has to do with static air pressure of the system. Probably an engineering thing to insure the same air flow pressure from each of the ducts when in use... Messing with the static air flow may help one air vent big time but kill the air flow on the other end??? Just my thoughts...

Those looks cool. Are they standard diameter? The inside diameter of my oem vents are 4.75" and outer grill diameter is 7".

It says it is a direct replacement for most vents. I was told they work with mine, I will find out next weekend. They are currently en route.

Mine did the same thing I took a plastic cereal bowl cut it in half put it in the vent and sprayed foam around the back.

I had one 15K A/C to cool a 35' TT. It needed all the help it could get.

The OP and myself have the same trailer...luckily, we are both pre-framed/wired for a second A/C in the bedroom. What we also found out, this 15k A/C requires a minimum of six openings, we only have four...I think once we get a few extra vents inlace and seal off unnecessary air leaks, it will be a lot better. Another forum showed spacers made from 13/16 foam board..I will be doing that, plus using the silver tape generously where needed.
