Coach-Net Experiences

This is not a rant. We have had Coach-Net for a few years and only used it once. I will relate our experience and hope to get some responses with other folks' experiences.

Some history... We used to have AAA for many, many years. Used them 5 times:

-- for towing locally when a hydraulic clutch line failed about 6 miles from home.
-- for towing locally when an emergency fuel shut off switch failed and shut the fuel off in the middle of the night.
-- for towing many miles from home when an engine failed while bringing home a new/used truck from the south.
-- for opening a door (on a trip up in Canada) with the keys locked inside. :o
-- for opening a door (locally) with the keys locked inside. :o :o

Each time we were promised response within 90 minutes and they came through (except the time in CA - but that was totally excusable).

Last year while covered by Coach-Net we made one call:

-- for towing locally when an ECM failed about 4 miles from home and the car wouldn't start in the middle of the night.

They took over 3 hours to get the tow truck out.
The guy on the phone was real nice and kept me updated on what was going on. He couldn't find anyone in the fourth largest city in PA that recognized who Coach-Net was and couldn't get anyone to respond (they weren't sure they'd be paid).

We switched from AAA to Coach-Net because we don't want to be stranded on a highway while traveling and have no way to deal with our trailer.

We are retiring next year, will be traveling more and farther from home, and want to travel somewhat worry free. But we also want to be able to have worry free driving around home.

I called Coach-Net to discuss this as our policy is up soon, but the lady on the phone didn't have any solution.

What say you? Should we keep Coach-Net for traveling and also carry AAA for around home?

What have your experiences been?
