They look handy but are they safe for potable water and will they hold city water pressure without bursting? Thanks, Radar.

They are very strong, but at the same time fragile. Pressure does nothing to them, but if you step on one on gravel, you will have a soaker hose.IMHO, they are perfect for a spare emergency hose, but not for every day use.
