- buckyExplorer IIHeck, a NFL star fired a gun in a bar in NYC. Rooters was nuthin'!
- Ski_Pro_3ExplorerA recurring problem where I USED to camp is LA LEO's coming up to camp on the El Dorado Nat'l Forest and pulling******like this and worse. They fling so much lead around, it's amazing someone isn't shot regularly. I discovered the problem when I called 911 and the local El Dorado County sheriff showed up, and instead of putting down the misbehavior, actually joined in with the boozing, but not the shooting. I now rarely camp where any other people are and this is a main reason why.
Far as I'm concerned; the ONLY difference between the cops and the robbers is the coin toss on which team they are selected for. You could reverse their roles; put the cops in the jail and the prisoners in charge and I doubt anyone could recognize the difference.
It's rare to find an LEO who isn't angry and pissed at the civilian population out there. Even rarer to find one who will obey the same laws they enforce. - HammerheadExplorerBack in the late 80s/early 90s, there was an off-duty FBI agent who fired his gun in a bar in Fargo, ND. They even sold T-shirts proclaiming "I survived the shootout at Rooters Bar" :)
- brireneExplorerEvery gun control advocate's nightmare and argument. If you're a "trained, responsible gun enthusiast", I would assume you're pretty upset about this.

I doubt it. They'll be suspended with pay for a time during the "investigation," then back on the job. - HappyKayakersExplorer III

Really think a "rent a cop" could have made an impact on these two "fine" law enforcement officers??? Doubt it.
This forum really needs a 'sarcasm' button. - Old-BiscuitExplorer III"They did not fire at each other, he said, but into the air."
Like that makes a difference.
Civilians would have been safer if they had fired at each other.
On second thought probably not......LA Officers have a history of not being able to hit anything.
Yep....LA's finest - ol_Bombero-JCExplorer

Never mind the cops. The security guy at the campground should be fired for not enforcing the quiet hour rules before it escalated into gunfire.
Nope.
The security guy (if there was one) was obviously the only guy that knows CA doesn't have a.....
"Stand Your Ground Law"..:S
As the article noted (previous incidents), the current LA Co. Sheriff needs the title "Former" in front of his name along with the deputies involved.
That may come to fruition soon..:W

I certainly hope so. Their department also needs to review their screening methods for new hires.
