CPR First Responder Instructor

My hubby is a AHA CPR/First Aide Instructor. He wants to teach CPR to park staff and volunteers in parks that require folks to be certified. He does this on a volunteer bases or in exchange for a free campsite,

He is going to be providing this service for some parks in Fl this winter and is book for the month of Feb but has March and April open.

He is also willing to stop at parks to and from WI to Fl. Anyone know of state parks that could use this volunteer service please PM me.

  • Can he also teach the defib use? I see more parks having them but only the main staff (owners) certified to use it.Or is it's use more along the emt lines.

Glad to see he is helping out the campgrounds with the training.

Not to be contrary, (and because I really don't know the facts:)), but doesn't your hubby have to be associated with the RED CROSS or something, to issue valid cards to the folks who take his course? I was thinking that was a State thing, so he might have to get a certification from FL, though I'd guess that is really just a paperwork thing.
I'm just guessing that anyone taking the course, should be sure that they get a valid card.

His instructor's certification is from the American Heart Association (AHA) as was mine.

He can issue AHA cards to his graduating students.

As is mine....I can go anywhere and teach a class and 99% of my class teaching is on a volunteer basis!

I think it's great that your DH is doing this, and hopefully, he had full classes, because the more folks who know the proper techniques and procedures, the better my chances of having one around, when I need them!!:B

I've taken the class as part of my job training, and it's well worthwhile! It seems as if the CPR training changes every few years, and they are making it easier and easier to be able to do, which really helps when it's needed.

    Good luck, and happy Camping:)
