Curt hitches

Does anyone know anything about the Curt hitches that Chevy sells as an option? Thanks!

  • I have the Curt Q20 hitch and it is a very solid hitch. Have towed close to 2,000 miles with it. This is a drop in the bucket compared to other rv'ers, but no complaints about this hitch.
  • I replaced my Chevy factory hitch (which was cracked at the seem). The crack was my fault. I am not sure about current trucks, but the hitches on the HD trucks (at least for the 2005 plus or minus a few years) only had a tongue weight of 750 with a weight distributed weight of 1000lb if I remember correctly. Did a pre-travel inspection, found the crack, hopped onto the Duramax website to see if common, only to find that I was not the only one….I was pointed to the owners manual, and guess what I found….I was over weight on my hitch, glad I caught it.

Went on the hunt for a good hitch, found the Curt (Made in the USA) and can handily way more tongue weight and trailer weight than I will ever need. It did not cost an arm and a leg either.

So, a long way of saying, they make a good product, just be sure it is rated for what you will use it for.

  • I put 2 on my last vehicle. Very well built, sturdy, clean welds and good powder coat. Only reason I had to replace it was because I got rear ended. The car behind going 45mph was written off. Only damage to my truck was to the hitch. It took the full impact and was only slightly bent. It saved my truck.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
  • I have a few Curt hitches on 3 trucks, fronts and rears. They are very good hitches, good welds, good powdercoating, always fit good, never a problem so far in over 10 years on the oldest Curt hitch I own.
  • Curt makes a good hitch, but you need to find out which hitch they are installing. I have used them in the past with no problems. Easy install, no drilling required.
  • Curt makes a good hitch

Don't know what Chevy Option costs are which hitch it is (model) but I'd check pricing before ordering the option
