Does "free WiFi" ever work?
Just visited two different KOAs, two days, in a row, both offered "free" WiFi... I hate to say it like a complaint because it's not exactly something I'm going to loose sleep about... I'm just wonde...

There are two very different components to CG Wifi, which result in very few facilities with great performance.
The wifi antenna system needs to be efficiently designed, with complete coverage to all sites. Because most of the broadcast sites are repeaters, if poorly designed, overall speeds and throughput will be impacted.
The Broadband Pipeline that the CG uses is the other determining factor. If the facility is in an area not serviced by high speed broadband, there is little hope for usable throughput at all. Short of running in a dedicated T-1 line, the facility will have no real options.
If the CG IS in an area served by true high speed broadband, I begin to question why solid service throughout the park is not available. My office is connected through Fios and several hundred people are supported by this one pipeline all day long, with very good speeds. I fail to see why a CG with a couple of hundred sites cannot deal with this and achieve similar results. Our office Fios service runs lees than $500/mo.
