Warm-up is old diesel driver's wives tales - from the 40's!.:S
Virtually all fire apparatus are diesels!
Fire 'em up for emergency response at 3:00AM and away you go !
Started (no pun) that with diesels in the late 1960's.
Never a problem with the engines.
Never a problem with low air.
"Low air" in an air system usually means there's a leak somewhere -
and a normal system that's been sitting a long time, should build sufficient pressure to release brakes in a couple of minutes.
