Dyson DC59 battery powered vacuum

After less than 10 uses the battery on my DC59 will not hold a charge. Of course it is out of warranty and a new battery is about 100 bucks. I wonder if I got a defective unit or this is just a fluke.....I have contacted Dyson and they keep telling me to clean the unit....Duh......after charging over night it will only run a couple of minutes and I have cleaned every inch of it....

  • Not sure if mine was the same model #, but I had the same problem. I called Dyson, and she immediately told me what to do. On mine, where my hand fit, there was a button to release the battery. When I would vacuum, it would sightly release the battery. This was a design flaw, if you ask me. So, she told me to make sure the battery is pushed in each time so it can get a full charge. That seemed to be the problem. We have since gotten a newer Dyson and haven't had that problem with this one.
