Eagle Sighting in Florida?

I didn't read all 4 pages of this thread. But, I see them all the time now. They are really getting thick. I remember when I saw the first one. It was about 15 years ago. I stopped the truck and took pictures of it.

With my Kodak film disposable camera.

Now, I see them all the time. I saw one last Sunday driving down the road.

Everyday birds are also fairly common here in the Northeast.

No need to go to Alaska to see eagles. They are abundant here in Indiana.

On the way to Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut on the secondary road to the casino, there are electric lines on wooden posts on the right side of the road.

A pair of eagles raise a family on top of one of these posts every year, kinda like a neighborhood attraction.

So, officials had the electric lines relocated to the other side of the road to bypass the nesting site. Had to bury new poles and run wires, etc. on the bypass for about 1/4 mile away from each end of the site.

Eagles are thriving there. nest is HUGE!!!! Grows bigger each year.

It is not unusual to see bald eagles here in lower west central Fl.. I saw two juvenile eagles together last week feeding on road kill, I never realized what scavengers they are.

Another majestic bird is the golden eagle, I saw one out west on a hunt and was amazed how large it was.

We see them in SW Florida and also along the Illinois River in central Illinois.

When I was in Mt. Dora, FL I had one come visit the campsite over Christmas. Stayed for a long time and made for an enjoyable evening.

I saw one in a field last week. At first glance I thought it was a vulture. it was eating something on the ground. The he lifted his head, and I saw nothing but white. And then I noticed at the bottom of his back, a bunch of white feathers.

I've never seen one sitting on the ground eating.

In Michigan here and we're good for one or two sightings a year.

I saw a pair and two nesting juveniles at Cuyahoga NP in Ohio last May. We took the train and it went right by their nest. Beautiful!
