- LockyExplorerI am way ahead of my usual schedule for the camper. Last weekend it was pretty nice here in Michigan so I climbed on the roof and resealed all the caulked areas. Now in a couple weeks I will drain all of the pink stuff and hook it up to the truck to make sure all lights work.
- TurnThePageExplorerHopefully we can de-winterize soon. Our likely first trip of the season will be Mothers Day weekend.
- wa8yxmExplorer IIIOh come on now, You do know there are 4 ways to winterize
Heated storage
Wet method (Pink stuff all lines)
Dry method (Pink stuff drains/traps/toilets AIR in fresh system)
And the very, very, very, very BEST method. The "S" method (For northerners)
Strap a snow blower on the front
Turn RV or TOW vehicle so the compass displays "S"
Drive till, when you stop for fuel, somebody pushes his cap back, scratches his head and says "What the ()@*#$@# is that thing for"
You are now winterized. (Close to how I do it, No snowblower.. Just look for "Bridge ices before road signs" If you don't see 'em.. You are winterized.
Actually.. I go by the anticipated low... I've been "Surprised" once.. no damage since it was not a "Total" surprise.. I just had a line freeze on me. - MudChuckerExplorerDe winterising this week! Still gets about 10 degrees below freezing at night but the daytime differential is high enough to heat the mass such that latent heat prevents freeze up over night.
Wooo! Another rv season :) - NYCgrrlExplorer

I just have one question for you, where you going to be camping in July and August? I've seen the campgrounds in Alabama in July and August - vacant, no one goes outside unless its after dark and the're running to their air conditioned car.
Thanks for reminding me of parts of FL.... - gaymeadowsmanExplorer

Lake Martin is always a great place to cool off in the summer. Only a 90 minute drive from the house. And you're right, people who can't stand the humidity stay away. And Gulf State Park is a 3 hour drive. Plus we have a 52" wind maker fan that we put on back of the truck for those days we need a breeze. ;) - nickthehunterNomad III just have one question for you, where you going to be camping in July and August? - gaymeadowsmanExplorerWell, since I'm the one who started this post back in October, this is how we spent our fall winter. We camped at one of our favorite private camp grounds in South Alabama for Halloween(and toured a documented haunted house), twice in November(including Thanksgiving week). Brought in the new year camping on the Coosa river bank, and have had 6 long weekenders outside of town so far.
We will be head to north Alabama in a couple of weeks to go caving. - loggenrockExplorerOfficially out of hibernation today! Yea!!! Season shakedown soon! ST
- CroweExplorerIt's 88 degrees today. Too hot for this time of year. I need to get some place cooler! :B
