what is your diffy ratio. The number you posted was not available in 2012.

Anyhow, I pull an 11.5K fifth wheel with a 2012 F 250 with the 4.30 diffy. No problems on I 40 through the smokies. Matter of fact the 6.2 did better than the ole reliable 13 year old 7.3 psd.
  • Jerry what 5th wheel are you pulling and how is it in the mountains. I'm looking at either the cougar xlite or open range both around 7500 unloaded weight .Your thoughts on these
  • I am towing FW in my signature, with a similar truck, mine is a 4X4. Your truck should handle a FW with a GVWR of 12,000. I am pulling closer to 10,000 actual wt. My 6.2 pulls mine easily, and has payload to spare.

All 3/4 tons are not created equal. Some have way less payload, not much more than a HD 1/2 ton. At 3256, your payload is good, and the 6.2 is a good puller, even with the 3.73 gears.

  • We've been looking at fifth wheel trailers as well. After considering input here on rv.net, other research, and my personal comfort level with towing and hauling, I'm focused on trailers that don't exceed a 10, 000 lb GVWR. There are several to choose from. Others may haul/tow higher weights with 3/4 ton trucks but, I'm just not comfortable with pushing it. Just my view.
  • I have 2013 f250 6.2 10000 gvwr curb weight 6300 3.75 elect. locking axle lt245/75r17e all terrain tires 6 speed automatic trans. Truck has sway control and trailer tow package. Sticker on door says combine weight of occupants and cargo should not exceed 3256 lbs.Hope this help and thank you for your responce

What year 6.2, what are your GVWR, and GVW as it sits ready to tow.
What rear axle ratio, what transmission.
