Forever Warranty

I have a warranty called Forever Warranty. It was included, at no cost to me, when I purchased my motor home. I have read comments about it, but my question is:

Has anyone had experience with making a claim? I am not looking for a discussion of whether it is worth purchasing. And yes, I know you must have a yearly maintenance. My tech did it for $69, not the $350 some have paid. And I do believe those items should be checked anyway.

So, with the idea of whether maintenance contracts are worthwhile, what has your experience been with their paying on a claim? There is no deductible.

My take on it is this...If they do an inspection on it, you can bet they are going to find something "wrong" that they can charge you plenty to fix....I do my own inspections and fix it myself if it needs something.

Right, and when they find it but you don't want to pay their price to fix it, your "forever" warranty will be gone.

Trust me, it was not at "no cost" to you. It may not have been itemized on your invoice, but you did pay for it.
  • My only experience with this sort of thing was when I bought a 2013 Chevy 1500. The dealership promoted how "Warranty Forever" was included. I looked at the details and laughed. I told them I would void the warranty within the first 5000 miles. How? To keep that thing in effect, all maintenance of any kind had to be at that dealership and had to be done in accordance to Warranty Forever demands. Anything. About the only thing the owner could do was change the windshield wipers and license plates. And i did void the warranty right out of the gate by changing my own oil. Even called the Warranty Forever folks and told them.

Next pickup a 2015 2500, much more in line with what I needed compared to the 1500, I went to another dealer and avoided the last dealer. I was not going to pay for something that I will never use. Bad enough I have to pay for stupid stuff on a truck that I don't want just to get the things that I do want.

Not necessarily. I'm with those who say they get their payment in the form of yearly inspections and service fees they wouldn't otherwise get. Couple that with likely poor coverage and disclaimers and it's a profit maker for them.
