- pasusanExplorerSomeone new comes with a problem they want to get help and support with.
They want to post their problem to the forum.
In nice big letters right at the top they see the words Forum Posting and the other magic words Help and Support

Maybe they should put this Announcement READ BEFORE POSTING HERE! at the top of the first page of the Sub Forum
And of course Reading COMPREHENSION would help..but COLOR does catch the eye. - Sam_SpadeExplorer

Just as a curiosity, why do you think so many threads, on a host of topics, are started in Forum Posting Help and Support? Is it through a default of some sort?
No, it is mainly because it appears right in one of the header lines....in RED and underlined.

Exactly! Most new members fail to explore forums BEFORE posting. Nor do they read rules and posting instructions.
Hell, look at how many people buy a new vehicle and never crack open the owner's manual!:S - Yes, now I see that. Need an additional pop up on that button to require choosing a sub-forum.
Better would be a "Post New Topic" right up in the banner to the left of "Forum Rules" and let it post to General or have a "select forum" dialog box. - cavieExplorer

Because if you click on "Forum Posting help and support" a screen pops up and the button on the top left corner says "Post new topic" so Click and they are off and running. No further reading required. Forum Designers are not the sharpest knives in the drawer. drsteve wrote:
I don't see that.
