That's just to let folks know that in MN the passing lane is actually the right lane. :B

Not at all, I too dislike being stuck behind slower drivers who refuse to move over and let others by. However, all too many times the very people who are most vocal about the left lane are those who have no regard for the speed laws. I travel I-35 frequently for both business and pleasure and the number of people exceeding the posted speed is astronomical. Weaving in and out of traffic, passing on the right shoulder all occur and everyone of the folks doing it are fussing about folks not getting out of their way.

Yes I have personal vendetta against speeders, I lost my oldest daughter and grandson to just such a person.

Glad to see some folks are taking a common sense approach to tying up traffic by tooting along in the left lane.

A 'Keep Right Law' is a law intended to help keep traffic flowing better and not bunch up where road rage and tailgating and passing on the right occurs. When you have someone blocking faster traffic (legal speed or not) then drivers start to get angry and become more aggressive. Also by keeping the left lane more open you have a lane that can and will be used for law enforcement, ambulances,and fire departments to use when needed.

Javi1, you posted while I was still typing. We have the same opinion.

I don't see it that way at all. There are those that think no one else is in the roadway but them, so if they are going 5 - 10 MPH BELOW the speed limit, they don't care. Many times the person in the far right lane is going that much slower, which in my opinion, is fine since they are in the "slow" lane, but if those that want to go the same speed as the slow guy stays in the "passing/overtaking" lane, then you have a problem.

I don't see it as above the law at all. I see it as mandatory road etiquette since some don't have enough sense to move out of the way of others while they are smoking, texting, sightseeing from the fast lane.

Ticks me off when someone sightseeing appoints themselves to be the pace car for everyone else on the road.

Besided, you have no idea what reason the person traveling fast has. He might be trying to get to the bedside of his dying loved one, or to get his child to the healthcare facility before they pass into a critical state. You never know so just to be a decent person, move over and travel as slow as you want or can get by with. I never get upset at anyone traveling very slow in the right lane. It's the others that "own the road".

one stretch of I-59 in alabama has such a bad right lane that I try to drive as much as possible in the left. I do pull over when I see a vehicle coming up on me however.

I think in large metro areas they should put thru traffic in the left lane. This way they won't interfere with entering and exiting traffic. Some one always seems to be in the left lanes trying to get around a couple of more vehicles. Then they dive for the exit causing everyone to get on the brakes which then dominoes.

I remember following a couple of side by sides across I-10 in Louisiana for over 10 miles. Finally a cop sped through a rest area to get ahead of them instead of pulling one of them over. Talk about ticked, what are the chances of me getting a ticket for doing that? I cancelled spending my money in their state.

I may be wrong (although I seldom am) but don't all states have "impeding traffic" laws?

I know I should never say "never or always" but that is almost as basic as which side of the road to drive on.

Here's an irony for you - what difference does it make to you how fast the guy in the left lane is going, if you're obeying the law in the right lane while not passing anyone? What happens 99% percent of the time is two guy traveling below the speed limit lined up in both lanes right beside each other, both traveling the same 10mph or more below the limit speed, no one passing no one; and no one can get around them. Happens very day on my way to work.

Having a law to clear the lane so you can break a law is more than a little stupid.
