We took our wolf/shepherd with us camping for 14 years, ever since he was a puppy. During that time, I was never without a bag for picking up after him. After having to put him down, we were camping on our first trip without him and I made the comment to my wife that at least I don't have to worry about bags. As fate would have it, shortly after the comment, our "neighbor" let his dog wonder without a leash and poo next to our picnic table. He then refused to pick it up. We are without a dog now for 2 years and we still miss our companion, but it is nice not having to worry about where we go.
