We have had German Shepherd Dogs since 1978; we currently have number 9 & 10 and they will be our last dogs/pets. At one time while living full time in an Alfa 5er in NC we had 4 GSD's. They are a physical responsibility and financial responsibility but have never been a problem; they are great traveling/rving companions. The love and security have been wonderful and when these two are dead and gone we will really really miss them. But, at our too fast increasing age and reduced mobility, it is time to bid "fond adieu" to our furry friends. (Notice, I didn't say kids. Never thought or our dogs as kids, always dogs/friends.) It is not so much that we don't want more, just don't want to burden someone with a dog of ours if for some reason we could no longer take care of the dog.
