It certainly is a great PLAN B thing to have around the house. My OFF-ROAD POPUP is equipment with a bunch of batteries, soon to have solar panels, portable generator, 600WATT and 1500WATT PSW Inverters, and all the modern RV items like air conditioning, fresh water tank, shower/pottie combo, etc... I am equipped with good storage area and have extension cords, tables, chairs, awning, propane tanks, home entertainment items, and in my case alot of emergency two-way radio ops with my connections with SKYWARN, RACES, Ham Radio, and NAVY MARS radios ops.
AS you can see from your experience with your TC you have alot of valuable equipment at your finger tips to help out in many home emergency type situations.
My setup was used during the past two years of hurricanes in our area where power was out for almost 10 days two years ago and three days last year. We never missed a beat here at the house and also provided some local community aide to keep the fridges going as well as providing some home entertainment from out patio area. It was a block party everynight haha... We didn't miss a beat. When the lights came on there was several of us saying AWWWWWWW....
This photo of off the power grid camping near Medicine Park, OKLA sums it up pretty good with my setup. When and where we need 120VAC for something we just run a live extension cord...

Wouldn't have it any other way...
