We have had a quad winch mounted in the front of the truck bed, center, for years now. First it was used for two Harley Davidson motorcycles, (now sold) and now for a golf cart. You will enjoy the much better control when the winch is at work.
More than likely your ramps “kicked out” when the carts drive wheels started spinning. This, most likely, will not happen when the winch is doing the work of moving the cart, as the forces applied to the ramps are in a different direction. I would still strap the ramps down. Loading and unloading is much more controlled when using a winch. Winch in and winch out.
Well worth the money. By the way I also fell off our ramps with the motorcycle.
