Good Sam Insurance

When I had GS it was with GMAC. They finally priced themselves out with me. I have not looked back. I use a local agent.

The only constant I've learned about insurance is that I need to shop around every so often. Prices always change.

To the OP topic: Travelers was best for us for Home+Cars but not the RV. GS Loans was cheaper and I thought they were the best deal for us but Progressive beat them by a few hundred $ on our MH.

I figure I'll be switching to someone else in a few years... if you keep your driving and credit clean you'll always have options. (Wish my 18 year old self would have listened to that!)

We use Good Sam (National General) and could not have been happier. We used them because of better rates. Then late one stormy night we were involved in an accident (downed tree). Our car was a total loss. We got thru to the insurance company promptly, they explained the process. It was straight forward, uncomplicated. Within a week to 10 days we had a check in hand for a very fair amount. We can say enough about their excellent customer service.

We have the Good Sam/Camping World/National General Insurance. Rates are reasonable, but slightly higher than my parent's RV insurance rates (through their auto carrier). If the rates go up next term, we'll re-evaluate. Much of it depends on your state and credit score, so its hard to compare from person to person on this forum.

FWIW, I do think there is some value in having an insurance carrier that is accustom to RV's in lieu of a primarily auto-based carrier. If I had a yacht, I'd probably find a company that provides insurance exclusively for yachts. But, like most folks, I hope to never have to use the insurance we have.

Skip here: GS Insurance is written by National General. So far so good.

When I switched from Allstate I called GS too because of their promotion of cheap insurance. The rates were pretty good but dealing with them a little difficult. I figured out I was really getting Progressive Ins. so I went directly to Progressive. Not much difference in rates as I remember, but a smoother process.

Progressive does that, and is good insurance at a very good rate...GS's, as stated doesn't sell "insurance...someone else is the carrier...They offer ERS, and have a good price on it, but I have Coach net for ERS.
