- notevenExplorer III12. Why don't travel trailer ("bumper tow") trailers come with "anti sway" I.e. Proper weight and balance and design?
- chops1scExplorer II11. Why does my camper use different keys for the door and storage compartments???
- GoPackGoExplorerDisc Brakes.
Disc brakes have been installed as standard equipment on just about all cars and trucks for the last 30 years or more, (Even my 1971 Honda motorcycle had one) yet you still can't find them on current trailer/fiver offerings (I'm sure there are probably a couple exceptions). Disc brakes work better, have better fade resistance, run cooler, and have GOT to be simpler then these ridiculous electric gizmos that are used now. Maybe they didn't get the memo ? - ScottGNomadThe greatest RV mystery to me is why they still install those aluminum railings for gerbals on the roof.
Nobody ever uses them for anything that I've seen. - rk911Explorer

Some coaches have the systems fairly well integrated. An electric hybrid MH is probably already on someone's drawing board. The motive engineering is mature, it is the battery storage capacity and charging that is holding back the introduction. If someone made a system like the GM Volt, where a small engine is used as a charger and the motive power is all electric, there might be enough cost efficiency to make it work and have more integration of appliances, charging, and battery capacity.

- Matt_ColieExplorer IIThat's where you folks all missed the boat. I have a coach with a very high level of integration. It was all designed and built from the ground up to be a traveler's motorhome and that is how we use and love it. There are a few things I have had to add because the technology didn't exist 40+ years ago. But yes, it does have different electrical systems for the main engine, the house as 12V, the house as 120V and the Generator (APU) has its own set so you can't get left dead in the water (road).
The problem so many of you have is that the chassis builder dropships the underneath to the coach plant that does the rest often without knowing much about what they are standing on top of. I see these problems a lot. I try to help and an owner will ask what I do about and I have to shrug and say that I never had the problem.
Matt - DutchmenSportExplorer9. The term "upgrade" is a joke. Why do so so many think going from a TT to a 5er, a 5er to a MH and "upgrade"... when they all have the exact same appliances, furnaces, water heaters, the exact same plumbing pipes, frame manufacturers, and all use the same rubber on the roof? The only "upgrade" is the amount you have to "anti-up" out of your pocket book.
