Have to choose tires today Michelin or BF Goodwrich

it has been over 15 years since i bought bfg's for my truck
they had a short service life
michelins are the most expensive generally because in actual practice , on average michelin makes the best tires .
they charge for that and folks pay it .

BFG is owned my Michelin, as are a few other tire brands. GY owns a few different brands per say, as does Cooper. Bridgestone and firestone are part of the same corporate structure also.

Many reasons for different brands among the same parent. Both good and bad. I've had better luck with BFG, altho they do not last long. But they have a softer rubber, the truck versions are a bit more specific in off road use, car tires had a race track edge to them. Michelin was more general in car/truck use. Some are more off road like on my MDT. Michelin does have some sizes and types other brands do not build. I've had too many case/tread separation issues with Michelin to really trust them. Could be they do not build tires to how and what I put them thru!

Isn't BFG made by Michelin? And no I got free tires because they had an accident with my truck in their shop.

Nowe that I am relooking at the Ops first comment, Did not know BFG made a "dueller" style tire....thought that was a bridgestone name! which would be better than Michelin in my book by too many % points!

You're getting free michiblows because you probably bought them at Sears. Otherwise if you did not get a good set the first time, you would never get them exchanged! I'm not a fan of BFG's, but they do seem to be better than michiblows from my experience! Since you have to choose tires from the Sears line up......well, I said my part not that it is worth anything.

If you want to look up Coopertire.com, they have a tire sidewall that shows where the date etc should be on ANY brand of tire. That is a NTHSA?!?!?! not sure if I go the right letters in order etc. but a federal standard tires sold in the US must follow.

I did not know tires were dated, where is the date?

Check the dates on each of the tires. I would not have any installed over about three months old from any dealer.
