- ferndaleflyerExplorer IIII see everything covered here EXCEPT how the money got into your account to cover the payments----for those of us without unlimited money in the bank and no direct deposit.
- down_homeExplorer IIEveryone wants auto pay or draft. We don't do that. We pay online and schedule payments when to come out ahead of time, many times.
So far, we have been where we have wifi. Using the smart devices or phones anywhere you have a connection, connecting the lap top is better than trying to use that teeny pad. - VeebyesExplorer IISome are auto pay. A couple times a month we will use a library if something more secure cannot be found. Never use a fast food or similar place.

DW got skimmed at a gas pump once. CC company handled everything, no problem. That is until several years later when they declined a several hundred $ purchase from an out of state company i had never done business with before. I called them to tell them to allow the charge and they said they couldnt do that as their insurance company (they apparently dont self insure) wouldnt allow it on that account. "But thats a different account # and everything along with several years and many many thousand dollars of paying on time since the skim". Doesnt Matter- that account will ALWAYS be linked to criminal activity, even after changing card and account numbers.
So i canceled the account. What good is a card that you cant use when you want. This was Chase Bank fwiw and i have perfect credit and always had. Dont know if the other big banks do business in a similar manner. - CA_TravelerExplorer IIIWe like to check our accounts periodically. We've been hacked several times and the most interesting one was plane tickets. The flight was 3 weeks away from Dallas to Atlanta and they got the red carpet greeting at the airport. Go figure!
Actually the $950 hiking boots (not a typo) from CO was interesting. The day before delivery they changed the Fed Ex address to a nearby city and a lady accepted the package. I'm reasonably sure the CC information was stolen at a local hospital cafeteria. Guess they don't pay the staff enough.
For clarity we've never paid a dime for fraud on our accounts. Instead that's paid by those that pay interest on their accounts... - ktmrfsExplorer IIwe have all our regular bills on autopay. that includes credit cards, utilities etc. Use quicken with our hotspot when we have cell service to look at the accounts.
- Dutch_12078Explorer IIIThe rare times we need to send a check, we use our credit union or bank's online bill paying service. They send the check and we don't even pay for the stamp...
