I park my 1995 fiver where we go and if something needs fixed I fix it on the spot or when I can get the part. I keep fiver off season next to house and do all my own repairs so I know the ins and outs before we leave for next trip. I also keep many spare parts under the master bed that include wheel bearings, break parts, plumbing parts, electrical parts,jacks,tools. It is insurance for me to have it. If I ever up grade to newer fiver, it will NOT come with a warranty. ;)
We found this out as well. Warranty service was pretty good until we continued to have more and more failures while still under warranty. Actually the dealer became more reluctant than the manufacturer. We have probably fixed more of the problems ourselves than those fixed by dealers either in or out of warranty. The hassle and expense just getting to and from the dealer obviates making the trip for relatively minor warranty issues. The extremely high cost of having non-warranty repairs made at the dealer limits those to something we just cannot do ourselves. The only non-warranty repair we have had done was the replacement of the black tank. After observing the poor job that was done on it I will replace all tanks in the future if needed. We just have not had very goods luck with dealer repairs. Three trips alone to just fix the super slide was just an early indication of what we were going to face.
