Yep, I guess Lake Superior is 95% frozen, you can even drive out to Madeline Island.
Here are some real pictures of Lake Superior ice caves that I just received. Not as spectacular as the others, but these are real. No need to get in a big hurry to give up the comforts of the south, to head back north.
