A recent thread on tires was started by a generous poster who was passing on his knowledge of tires. I was reading his posts and actually learning about tires when POOF the whole thread was removed because of the actions of a handful of people.It is very sad what this forum becomes sometimes. I am also not sure why the Moderator couldn't just let his informative posts remain while only removing the bickering. Things like this are what drives people away from this forum.

Interesting. There were actually two threads. One was closed due to I assume it going off topic from people questioning the motives.The second thread had good information in it with no negatively charged posts. But I see that one is gone as well.

It's easier to delete than it is to edit. Go figure. We get what we pay for.

Not gonna happen now.From what I remember on one of them, he got jumped on pretty quick wanting to know what his credentials were and blah, blah, blah...It could have been that the OP requested the post be deleted?? Why try to offer some information from years of experience, but get dumped on within a few posts before you even get out of the blocks..If that's the case, I don't really blame him.. But, if it was just deleted because it was getting too "high school".. Well, I've removed posts I've made too because of that..Be nice people.. Maybe, just maybe, someone else might learn something from another's experience.. Not just YOURS.. ;)Mitch

It is a real shame that tireman9 got banned and his posts deleted. He was going to a lot of work to provide information about tires and answer questions based on knowledge of the subject. Many members indicated their interest and thanks for his work.

There were some critical comments - uncalled for and unreasonable in my opinion - that landed on the thread. Many members indicated that they disagreed with the critical posts. Tireman did not get into any debate with the negative posters.

One member just could not leave it alone. I could see him getting kicked out. His post were ruining the thread for everyone.

I would like the Admin/Moderators to reconsider the action taken and reinstate Tireman9 and his thread.

If that does not happen it would be reasonable to explain why this action was taken since so many members were finding the information from Tireman9 to be informative.

An exchange of knowledge is one of the goals of the forum is it not?

Insulting people is not.

I have every respect for Roger Marble and his blog. No one else on the internet has gone to the effort he has to help and inform RVers on tires like he has, yet there are always some that have nothing better to do than criticize others and ruin it for everyone else. I really hope Roger comes back to continue with what he set out to do. Why would he banned, he said nothing whatsoever to aggravate anyone.

I completely agree what a few posters on that thread said about experienced professionals not wanting to post anything based on their own professional training and experience only to get shat on by some that have no idea what they're talking about.

Can someone confirm that the OP in that thread was indeed banned? If he was I demand a public explanation from the moderators. The author seemed to be taking a ribbing from the normal jackals that jump on everyone but was providig some useful info. His website, linked above, has no ads whatsoever.

Did they also ban the jackals?
