Jack supports and tires while seasonal camping.

So Amy And I decided to go seasonal next year we found a campground we love and I have some ideas on what to expect and what we will need to do for seasonal camping.. I do have a couple of questions though.. Besides the normal stabilizers should I use Jack supports?? If I should how many should I use, and where should I place them on the frame? Now on to the tires I plan On using some sort of composite material under the tires, what Im wondering is should I support the camper high enough so I can turn the tires on occasion.. My concern is the bearings.. Im worried about what will happen with lack of use.. thatnk you guys for any and all input..
  • As others have stated use the trailer as it is intended to be used. Don't jack it up and support the frame or anything radical like that. You're just asking for trouble when operating beyond the design guidelines...
  • Oh yea I guess I should have mentioned what trailer We have.. Its a Flagstaff ultra lite 27BESS..And what if we winterize and keep the trailer on site over the winter? still no concern for the wheels?
  • I would use tire covers if the tires are exposed to direct sunlight. We use them on one side only as the slide-out covers the other side. When parking long term we use concrete blocks instead of the lego pads. And we use home defender to spray around the trailer and all points touching the ground. That is about it. No need for jack supports. Enjoy!
  • You haven't said anything about the trailer you will be using. Support depends on trailer size, and also your own comfort level of trailer movement.

I would put wood, under the tires, and cover them. Main thing is to keep them off the damp ground.

The bearings should not be a problem, as long as they are well greased to begin with.

  • don't worry about your bearings.

as for jacks, i'd just say it depends on what kind of trailer we're talking about...is it old?

you are just talking about a few months, relax and enjoy the season.
