You haven't said anything about the trailer you will be using. Support depends on trailer size, and also your own comfort level of trailer movement.

I would put wood, under the tires, and cover them. Main thing is to keep them off the damp ground.

The bearings should not be a problem, as long as they are well greased to begin with.
