Just installed Blue Ox Sway Pro and have a question

We have the Blue Ox Swaypro. Ours is flipped the other way than yours. We started out the way you have it...but it kept bottoming out and scrapping the pavement, even on speed bumps.

See if you can flip it where the long piece is up. Also your breakaway cable looks like it is hanging pretty low.

Since we flipped ours, it works great, love the Blue Ox. No noise, easy to set up. Lube the zert fittings and your hitch ball.

Of course it matters, a LOT ... you always want to set up any WD distribution system as the trailer would be typically loaded for a camping trip. That's why those who have WD system set up by the dealer tech on an empty trailer often find they have to adjust it later once they have finally settled on how they're going to typically load their rig. It's also why manufacturers such as Progress Mfg (Equal-i-zer) make it clear in their installation instructions that if the trailer load changes significantly it may well be necessary to take another look at the EQ set up and adjust as necessary.

Because I lifted the trailer 2.5 inches, that has allowed me to flip the BlueOx ball hitch holder (or what ever it is called) to the "normal" position that now gives me 6 more inches of clearance so I hope my dragging issues will be resolved.

When installing the hitch i measured front and back of trailer to make sure it was level. I then measured to the top of the trailer ball hitch and then made the ball hitch on the truck 2 inches above that. I believe the trailer ball was 16 and I made the truck one 18.

2) front fender w/ the trailer hooked up but WDH unhooked
3) front fenter w/ the trailer and WDH hooked up

The goal is for 3 to be at least 50% of the way between 1 and 2.

Reading it, it says you need to tighten the chain more. That would make it look more flexed like an other poster mentioned. Mine has a nice curve to it and I am perfectly level.

Yes I was reading that on my instructions that came with the hitch. The problem is they say that if the trailer is not level raise or lower the hitch head assembly. The front of my trailer is a bit high but I can't lower the hitch head assembly anymore. I'm at the lowest setting. Tightening chain will not fix that

My truck is sitting at 38" in front and 38 1/2 " in back so I can increase by one chain link to fix that problem.

I have the swaypro and I had to flip it over to get the proper ball height. However, the front end should not be lifting up. On the website, I remember there is a chart that tells you to add or subtract chain length depending on what is happening. Here is the link to it:

The front and rear measurements dont mean much as fenders are different sizes.

A quick way to tell how much weight you are trasnferring is to take 3 measurements.

1) front fender w/out the trailer hooked up
2) front fender w/ the trailer hooked up but WDH unhooked
3) front fenter w/ the trailer and WDH hooked up

Just a thought, but are you sure you have sufficient weight transfer going on here? The Blue Ox Sway Pro is quite different from other WD systems in that those spring bars, when properly loaded, should bend quite a bit but from your pics it appears yours aren't.

I'm not sure actually, How do I tell if the weight transfer is correct? My front and rear of the truck are pretty close to the same height and every pic or video i've seen looks pretty close to mine. Maybe its the angle of the picture.

Looks pretty good to me. Not worth purchasing a new shank for that amount as long as it tows well and you don't drag the rear end of the trailer every time you enter a gas station.
Yes, it is normal to flip the shank either up or down.
