I've been meaning to come here and ask about our dogs and their need to poop and pee when in the CG. We camped in a park that had a dog exercise area. It was a small fenced area with waste bags. Not huge and on the far side of the CG from where our site was. However, right across from us was the public restrooms, not the showers just the restrooms. The back side of the restrooms faced our site that had a patch of grass. Not lush or fantastic looking, sort of crab grassy and some blue grass but maintained and mowed.Both of our dogs are young. A puppy that was almost 4mos at the time and our other dog just a little over a year old. Every time I tried to walk them down to the dog area, they spent the entire time sniffing all the other dog smells. But they were more than happy to go on the grass behind the restrooms. I picked it up immediately but was wondering if this was something other campers would frown upon.As a neighbor camper, would this bother you? The grass was not set up for picnicking or big enough for kids to play on. Or are dog owners expected to only allow their dogs to poop and pee in those fenced dog yards?

You did fine. No problems from me if I were camped there. Dogs are gonna "do it" wherever they are at. The problem is with "parents" who don't pick up after their kids have "done it!"

No pee, no poop, no barking except in the owner's rig or a designated area.Amazing number of rude owner's don't pick-up after their pets or themselves.

We allow are dog to poop & pee on our site..rarely take her to any of those dog runs because they always seem to be full of poop even when bags are provided.Regardless of where she poops we pick it up. That is what I think most folks appreciate...I sure do!

They need Goose walking areas at campgrounds...and squirrels...and...On recent beach trip, a rather large shore bird found my motor home...need an area for them, too.

We have stayed in many campgrounds that have a pet area designated for dogs to do their business. They post that this area is cleaned and sanitized daily and they do not want dogs doing their business anywhere else as they do not want to sanitize and clean any other areas. Most parks are very clear. If they have a dog area specific for this purpose, it should be used. This is not only for the parks benefit, but for the next camper that comes along. Areas where a dog Pees and poops even when picked up will eventually smell and be prone to bacteria. I for one, do not want to walk around in dog excrements at my camp site. Campsites can not be washed and sanitized everytime someone leaves, but the targeted areas for that business can be. If you don't want to walk all the way across the park to that area, ask to be moved closer

PEOPLE aren't as respectful of others around them. Let's face it, this really doesn't have anything to do with PETS. It's about PEOPLE. PEOPLE do whatever they want to do and don't have any empathy towards anyone else. No one lets anything go - you've disrespected me and now you must pay. The pet owner does something wrong, so it makes it OK for the non-pet owner to throw a fit. A pet owner listens to kids screaming all over and decides if he has to listen to your kids' screaming than you have to deal with his dog's sh*t. No one is willing to compromise, discuss, or be reasonable. It's my way or the highway. No one has any empathy to understand why another person might not want to hear your kids screaming or step around your dog's sh*t.

While I had dog i wont again as its a little to much work for me. To etiquette. We just stayed at a park which is pet friendly. No issue with that. But as soon as the site next to us became vacant a woman and her two large dogs walks over from her site, walks into this site and lets the dog do its business. We catch eyes and she just shrugs her shoulders. I told my fam to pay attention for landmines. Gross. Further walking them down the road so they can pee on the tree in front of us or our tire was also gross. I did say something when checking out. The park by the way, had a dog walk area that no one seemed to use. We have seen this same thing in many other parks as well.

I wonder if the same pet owners would be grossed out if I got up walked over to their site, pee'd on tree and front of them, then shrugged my shoulders and walked away. I bet if I peed on one of their tires they would chase me around with a bat.

Pets have become more popular to bad people owning them aren't as respectful of others around them. CG's should have better rules so pet owners know what to do and not do.

I don't get the spitting thing, either. I guess it's just to piss-off their parents. About seven or eight years ago, I was waiting in a mall parking lot and noticed three teenagers walking by. Two guys and a chick. One guy spits, and I think, wow, how uncouth. Right in front of the girl. Then, the other guy spits. I'm going, WTH? No respect, manners or regard for the gal. Then, the girl heaves a loogy. Right on the sidewalk. It made me laugh, at myself, for thinking I was so in tune with the World.

Well I have been told THAT before.

Remember the BBQ I talked about, the fricking things, all three,******10 feet from my BBQ and never miss a bark. I mean they are crapping while they bark..

THE USLESS OWNERS LAUGH.... And tell me " We are teaching them to "poo" behind our RV and not in front, I will pick that up as soon as I am done setting up"!

Well I am a 6'2" 285 lb man that always reflects respect first but I refuse to be treated poorly....Uhh NO, You will pick it up NOW or I will get my shovel and throw it on the hood of your toad. The lady was upset because I was rude..... He picked it up right then. I then told them to keep their useless mutts away from me, my children and my camp and to put them on a LEASH. And if they come after my girls again I will kill them.

HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR OTHERS! I do not RV to hear, see or smell your dogs. I will not allow my pets to disturb you. I do not want to hear that they are " Our kids", if they are your kids are ugly.... Your dogs do not have rights, they are DOGS. Just because you think they are "Cute" running around does not mean everyone else does too. Put them on a LEASH....

And I'll bet they don't but are starting to understand that not everyone likes their dog's behavior. I would bet the odds are that the next time they get set up to camp, they'll do the same thing and let all the dogs out to run and bark, watching if there is a big guy with a BBQ fork in hand. :B

I've always found it interesting how some folks think rules are made for others and its ok for them to ignore the rules for some reason.
