LED replacement bulbs

Here's my conversion details, with lots of in-depth info.

I replaced every single bulb in my RV (more than 25) for less than $130,most from Amazon, some from eBay. Super happy with the color, light output, and (lack of) current draw. No failures in at least 6 trips. I will never go back to incandescent, and I will never pay inflated prices from an RV place.

Last year I replaced all my house lights (except for two reading lights I don't use) with LEDs. The main interior lights are indistinguishable in color and intensity from the halogens they replaced. No failures so far.

Camco makes a great LED replacement for porch lights (even if a bit spendy). LINK

In addition to the number of LEDs, the type of LED is important. The 3528 (1210) and the 5050 are commonly used. The 5050 has 3 LEDs in the same package and is about 2x as bright as the 3528. It also draws about 2x the current.

Delivery takes about 3 weeks but was free. When you buy LED bulbs check how many LED's are on each bulb before you order. The more LED's per Bulb the more light output it will have. So far, purchased 30-35 Bulbs with only one failure and all are still working 2 years later.

The 1141 bulb has a single contact bayonet base (BA15S) and the 936 has a wedge base (T10 I believe). The 936 is also a much dimmer light than the 1141. The bulbs are not even close. I replaced my 1141 bulbs with 36-3528 LEDs and 18-5050 LEDs. You should not consider anything with fewer LEDs than these, more if you want them brighter. I bought mine on eBay.

If you have the fixtures like mine, 2 lights with a switch between them, about 4" x 8", squeeze the lens close to the switch and that should allow you to pull that end of the lens away from the base.
