Leveling Blocks vs jack pads

Thanks all. I found some 2 X 10 in the garage and some 1/2" plywood. Got enough to make pads 10" long and will add braided rope handles(pulls). A good solid coat of paint & I should be good for a while. I hope!

Plywood is the BEST product for sure!!! It does not crack and split. I have 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and 1-1/8" pcs, Honestly don't use them much anymore with my 6 point system but my Wife had it dialed in when setting up with our last DRV.

I now use these custom made blocks for more stability keeping the ram's short. YES that is 18,000# setting fully on those 4 blocks. I was still hooked to the truck, the RV tires are off the ground.

As suggested by others, this^^. The plastic legos are honeycomb and don't present a solid surface to the ground. When I used them with our previous rig, I always put a piece of 3/4" exterior plywood under them to prevent the legos sinking into soft soil. With our new rig (hydraulic auto-leveling) I use the 12" pieces of pressure treated 2x10. They last several years and are really cheap to replace (biodegradable, too!).

Another lumber user here. You can buy an awful lot of 2X10 boards for the price of the lego blocks.

Always look for less than build quality warped boards for an even better price & cut to length for two wheels a little twist does not matter anyway.

Boards are also useful if you ever get stuck & when they eventually split & need replacing they make good firewood & wont end up as landfill for the next 300 years.

I had used both wood and lego type blocks for my jack pads over the years. I had no real problem with either until last year parked on grass.

I was using the yellow leveling/jack pads to give a larger foot print for the jacks. Well it rained and the soil started to give way to not only mine but a lot of other rigs. The yellow pads just did not provide enough of a foot print or strength (three broke) to do the job.

So got home did some research and ended up with these:

Not a lot of experience with the Lego blocks, but 2x10s work although they don't last long before splitting.
Plywood works great, albeit you don't get much height out of a piece. But you can carry a bunch of squares. 1 - $35 sheet of BB or MDO form ply will make ya 32 blocks.
If you come across a chunk of 1-1/8" form ply even better but that stuff ain't cheap to buy.
