I suspect that our situations are slightly different. I'm a solo RVer, but I've never been married. Don't even have a relative that's still alive. I'm alone, but not lonely. I consider it a bonus. I go where I want, when I want and stay as long as I want to see what I came to see. I never get in arguments with myself over my choices.
But I always take a couple of lawn chairs along. I set up just one if I don't want company, or two if I wouldn't mind chatting. A small cooler with some cold beer and soft drinks is by my side. That seems to work every time. After all, the stranger and myself always have something to talk about. Where are you from? Where have you been? Where are you headed? I've gotten some good tips that way.
