Loud Pickups

There is a BIG difference in a load exhaust and a tuned exhaust. A tuned exhaust can be music to your ears, a load exhaust is just load. If I hear a tuned exhaust and can't see the vehicle, I love trying to guess the exact vehicle that is the source of the music.

Some things spell checker just can't fix. My bad!

The younger guys around here like to buy the older Dodges with the Cummings. That engine is noisy day one, but then they add exhaust to make them louder. Some put dual stacks coming up through the bed. These buys are either young cowboys, or oils field workers. Nice guys just a need for noise. I use to like it but now I really don't, but do tolerate it.

When I had my Gremlin, I would deal with the rolling boomboxes by pulling the lever to uncap my headers and holding the engine at 4000RPM. Never heard one that could match a geardrive, a 6-71 blower, and 3" open pipes!

This 800 HP twin-blown nasty beast just might have given the Gremlin a run for it's money ... at least in the noise department :B :

I still like a little rumble, but then I'm younger than many here.
Funny thing, when I first bought my jeep it needed a muffler so I put a flowmaster on it. Cut it off and threw it away after 3 days, ain't never heard nuttin sounding worse than a stock straight six with a flowmaster!

As for the RV, mine is an 08, with that lousy DPF, which has all ready gone into limp mode once a year or two ago, and I had to go 20 miles on the highway to cummins for a forced regeneration. Yuk.

I've a line on a company that reprograms the ECM's to eliminate the regen cycle, guarantee's no codes. As soon as I gather the cash, that garbage can muffle is going to the trash, replaced by an Aero XL and 4" polished pipe, along with a reflashed ECM and 435HP!

Love the sound of a diesel. Had a neighboring camper (seasonal) that had to leave every sunday morning at 6am. His dodge had a after market exhaust that sounded great, except at 6 am. He would hop in the truck to go to town to get coffee then come back to pack up and leave. That truck was loud. He couldnt understand why he was getting complaints from other campers (not me). Hes not coming back this yr because he was mad at all the complaints.
