Master Tow Tilt-Bed Tow Dolly

Does anyone have any experience with this tow Dolly. I have no experience towing and need to tow my 2010 Civic Automatic on a dolly as the factory says no four wheel towing. I found a used one (not sure of year yet) that the owner states has never been used. I have only seen pictures. I don't know what they cost new as the company has not answered me yet.

I am concerned about manually moving it in the campground if I have to unhook as I am older. I am also concerning while towing the Civic that the rear of the car will be very low.

Thanks for your help.

  • For moving the dolly around, go to Harbor Freight and get the trailer dolly. It is simply two wheels with a hitch ball on them, with a T-handle to tow or push it.
I have one, and it works quite well. I assembled mine with wing nuts on the bolts so that I can break it down to fit in a basement compartment.
True, if the dolly is equipped with surge(hydraulic) brakes, you do not need a brake controller.
  • As long as you have brakes either elect or surge.I went to their website and got tire straps for my size tires instead of the universal straps which are hard to adjust.

start by going to mastertow.com and read the manual for the model you have. i have one and am very happy with it. i added the bolt on wheel on the front which make turning it and moving it pretty easy. depending where you live or plan to use the dolly you should have electric brakes if you dont have them already. you also would need a brake controller for the brakes.

Thanks for your response. I believe the unit comes with hydraulic brakes and if so why the need for electric brakes. The front wheel sounds like it might help manually move the unit.
  • my buddy has one says its great. if this is a one time thing? go to Uhaul and rent a car trailer.
