Memphis, TN

I'm going over to Memphis for about 5 days. Looking for recommendations for a campground and restaurants NOT-TO-MISS.

Thanks.
  • We can highly recommend T.O. Fuller State Park. Not a very desirable suburb to get to the park but.... Lovely level sites with full hookups, pull thrus and absolutely spotless toilet block. Lovely and quiet and handy to all Memphis has to offer. Although the drive through the 'burbs' was interesting we never felt the slightest bit uncomfortable in the park. Very helpful host as well. We stayed in the fall so the leaves were just gorgeous and the whole park was stunning.
    Cheers
  • Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park Camp Ground. I live in Memphis and when I want to just get away from the house for a few days, I go there.

Tom Sawyer is nice, but not nearly as pretty.

Avoid the CG at Graceland and at the Agricenter.

I like the BBQ at The Rendezvous. There is a Mom and Pop BBQ place there that is the best BBQ I have ever eaten. It is called Moma's BBQ. Unfortunately, it burned last week. They say 3 months to reopen.
  • This is one site YELP for checking on hot restaurants around the country.

    Regards
    Gemstone
  • Tom Sawyers campground across the river in Arkansas and Corky's BBQ.
  • I'm planning on going down there and I looked under Memphis Tourism.
