Migraines, weather triggers, am I doomed?

I've never had that problem,but suspect its nutrition related..lack of proper vitamins minerals in your diet maybe..

I take the sister drug Naratriptan for my abortive; my body hates sumatriptan. I'm limited on it to 2x a week though to avoid rebound headaches aka medication overuse headaches. I also take 2 daily preventatives, Botox every 12 weeks, and daily vitamins d, b2, and magnesium. I went chronic daily after a head injury in 2011 :(

I suffered from migraines for years. Once my doctor put me on blood pressure medication for moderate high BP, they stopped. Only had one since then. Maybe a connection?

I'm a lifetime migraine sufferer. Going from our home at 1100' to camp at 6700', I often experience mild migraines every morning when I wake up.

If you con't have it, you should ask your doctor to prescribe Imitrex, also called Sumitriptan for it. It comes in tablets and also self injectibles. It is not a narcotic, I believe that it expands the blood vessels, and it ALWAYS gets rid of a migraine for me. Several decades ago, when it became available in the US (Europe got it first), my life was changed amazingly for the better.

Prior to the availability of Imitrex, I had to take Tylenol with Codeine, which is a narcotic, and I hated the codeine, but had to take it so I could still function when I had a migraine. I have even purchased Imitrex in Mexico.

Oh yeah, I'm loaded with preventatives, abortives, and ongoing specialist appointments :) I get vertigo as well :( I'm hoping that moving with the good weather will be helpful, yet worried that altitude changes may effect me.

Do you take any preventative meds? There are several. There are also some meds you can take to "break" a migraine. If you're having migraines several times a month, you might want to talk to your doctor about a preventative.

I have occasional migraines, so I don't take meds. I'm allergic to Advil, sadly, so I take Tylenol, if I can get it down before the vomiting starts. Mine start like a hatchet to the top of my head, almost like a seizure. It is stunning. Sometimes nothing helps but going to bed in a darkened room with an ice pack on my head and a bucket nearby. My migraines come with a side of vertigo--yay. Not. Thankfully, I only have them every few months. And yes, sometimes weather is a factor.
