A little bleach and Spic & Span in a bucket. Hose down awning, top & botttom. Using a long handled bruch, scrub top of awning and underside to remove the worst dirt & mildew. With soapy solution on the awning, roll it up and let it sit for 15 minutes or so. Then open and rinse and scrub and repeat as needed. You can also use a power washer but at a low pressure setting and do so with care.
How much is a little bleach? Teaspoon tablespoon cup pint ??????????????

About a cup to a good sized bucket of water.

I do something similar, but I apply 10 percent bleach to water and mild detergent (dawn) using a pump sprayer to both sides of fabric, roll up awning for about 15 minutes, open and hose off real good. I do this 2 times year and keeps awning looking new.
Also helps when leaving rolled up for extended periods to open occasionally to let fabric dry. Rolled up wet will cause the mildew and stains.

Try "Totally Awsome". Spray it on and hose it off. Works for me.

I agree, available from the Dollar store for $1, and works great on awnings and black streaks
