I wonder how long it will be before the Kawei pickup hits US shores. I know that in 2008, there was going to be a Chinese dealership in Austin, and there were a _ton_ of hipster types at the college I was going to hoping to buy their brands, just because they view American stuff as "uncool", and can't afford the European makes. Did they care it was an almost duplicate of other brands? Not at all.
The bank catastrophe in September killed those prospects off, but I still remember all the people wanting to buy Chinese just because it cheap, and they felt too snobbish to buy American.
Do I dislike China? Nope. However, I am an American, and I believe US interests and the well being of the people here need to come first in this country. This is why my last two vehicles were US made (both Ford F-150s.)
It's in every American's interest(pocketbook) to buy American. :)
Hmmmmmm - where is your Television manufactured?
How about the desk top, laptop, or tablet you're using?
Smart phone - cell phone?
Cameras?
Try and find USA mfg auto parts.
You only *think* you're "buying American"!!..:R
