My sleep sucks
Brand new TT, queen size bed. Added a foam topper and thick goose down like topper and finally the bed is soft enough and thick enough. BUT... I'm cramped. Can't toss and turn because overhead storage...

Tried out corner queen bed with overhead bunk for the kiddo. It was fine for the 5 min. we spent in it at the RV dealer, but OMG, how horrible it turned out to be once we used it for extended camping. Too cramped and the overhead bunk cut down on the air flow so bad we needed a battery fan to keep the air moving. We HATED it. And we had thought about it before we bought and thought it would be fine.
Even though we were used to smaller beds, and having one of us sandwiched against a wall (and needing to roll over the other to get up LOL) we underestimated the effect of that d*mn overhead bunk. And once we added enough foam toppers it too became even "closer" to our faces.
Sorry for the long post. My point being sometimes you think that you covered all your bases when buying or trading up, and then life tells you differently.... and you end up spending more time and money to get something that suits you better. Sorry it's not working out for you and good luck with a solution - and the 2 bed option might be just what's needed in your situation.
Our best camper was a vintage Shasta that had twin beds! LOL
