I used to have a 2000 first generation Tundra so I think I know what your talking about. "IF" you have the factory socket for the controller on your Tundra, all you should need is this part:

You said you're missing the "factory piece" so I take that to mean the Toyota pigtail adapter that they throw in the glove box when you buy the truck. This type of adapter is for ANY controller and is hard wired in. This is not the adapter you need or want. The Tekonsha pigtail will plug into your factory socket on your Tundra then plug the other end into your Voyager and you should be good to go.
If your Tundra does NOT have the factory socket for the brake controller, you need the Tekonsha universal pigtail harness and you must hardwire it in. That's how my 2000 Tundra was.
