New Cherokee & pressure pro tire monitors

We just bought a 2014 Cherokee as a towable and want to still use our pressure pro sensors even though the Cherokee already has a tire monitor system. We want to monitor the tires from the motor home of course. Should we be able to use these sensors without causing a problem with the OEM tire monitoring system?
If we don't use the pressure pro sensors on the Cherokee is there a way to monitor the tires from the motor home using the OEM system like maybe an app on the smart phone or something else reasonable?
  • It is not recommended by Pressure Pro to use their sensors on a system such as your Cherokee has.

The reason the Cherokee probably has aluminum valve stems and the Pressure Pro as well as most others have brass sensors.

Aluminum and brass after a time will freeze and you may not be able to remove the sensor.
  • Thank You for your responses.
We don't have our Cherokee Lattitude set up for towing yet because we are still towing our 2000 Grand Cherokee. At least we know now the tire monitors will work fine when we get it ready for towing.
We love driving the Cherokee and it seems a big upgrade for us since we haven't bought a car in 14 years.
  • We put our TireMinder monitors on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee and they work fine. So while towing we have tire minder, and when driving the jeep we have the internal jeep ones.

Same thing on our old 2004 Grand Cherokee. I think tire pressure monitors are required on all cars for many years now.

The RV monitors just go on the outside. We leave them on all the time.
  • Actually the ones on the Cherokee work great, I had a nail in a tire and it let me know right away

I use Pressure Pro on my Lincoln MKT which has its own tire pressure sensors with no problem. You should be able to do likewise.
I do the same with my Ford Edge .. two different systems and they work fine together.
