One step closer

Signed the listing agreement today on a house I built with my own hands 12 years ago, kinda bittersweet, but were moving forward on full timing.

    Developer-Contractor.
Think of it as a business and the memories will be less bittersweet. Hopefully you made a profit :)
  • Will be break even on the house, ,(over built it) but land was only $5500 when I bought it, worth about $100k now. so, It'll be ok.

Sounds exciting!! What will you be FTiming in?
I've had a "C" and a couple of tt's, was thinking tt again because of wanting to save the truck bed for my scooter, then thought 5er, now because of m'lady needing a knee replacement this spring, am wondering about getting an A to make it easier for her.
If the house sells before her surgery, we may be shooting blind, if her surgery is first will see how mobile she is to decide.
  • I could never sell our house and go full time. I've seen too many people wind up living in their RV while landed in the same place for years. Could never give up our yard, garage, tools, neighbors etc. It's fine to go out for several months but not forever..Just my opinion.

  • I have built three with my own, (and wife's) hands -from the ground up and believe me it has paid off handsomely.
We are debt free and very happy !
We don't full time, but do snow bird for six months in our brand new 40 foot TT on our own RV lot

Best of luck to you !

Thank goodness people are different and like adventure
  • Several friends of ours have had total knee replacements and after recuperation and physical therapy have had very little problems maintaining the RV lifestyle in their class C rigs. However, these friends are not full-timers, so that might present a different circumstance to you.
