- big_bird_2ExplorerTry impossible. I store 20 + miles from home and pay $200 a month. I am really considering selling the RV.:(
- jwmIIExplorerYep!! If I had a farm in California and a home in Hell, I'd sell the farm and go home.

If you had a farm in *Orange County* California you could sell it and *buy* Hell - and have millions of $$$ left over!..:W
BTW - the topic has been on this forum before.
Nothing that folks storing their RVs (and other stuff) weren't told when they rented there.
However, it is closing about 2 years sooner than predicted.
~ - SailordiveExplorerMakes me happy that I live on 35 acres outside of Atlanta, GA and not on the west coast.

Moved last month due to rate increases. Yes a little more distance but half the fee is worth it.- DustytuuExplorerI would be moving from the west coast! Anywhere but California.....!!!!

Please offer your advice to your friends, acquaintances, and kin!
If you were on the West Coast (CA) - your move would be appreciated!..:C
Be nice *not* to be the most populous state.
Too many non-natives.......and they keep on a-comin!..:(
~ - AJBertExplorerNot to come down on these folks but I've never understood paying $$$ for a house and then paying $$$ for an RV yet not having the space to store said RV on your own property?

LOL. It's a California thing I guess. We have small lots, HOAs, city parking restrictions, community parking restrictions, insane neighbors, etc etc.
Many home lots surrounding this storage facility are 6k-8k SQFT some as small as 4k SQFT. When you put a 2-3k SQFT house on that lot it doesn't leave a lot of room for RV parking if the restrictions above don't apply. "Well, just buy a house on a bigger lot". On average a house on a quarter acre (if you can find one) within 20 miles of that facility will cost over $1,000,000. Then there are those people that rent or live in condominiums because it costs a half million dollars + to get into a single family home in that area. They can't very well add RV parking to a rental or condo. Even if you own a lot large enough you have the problems above.
That's why we do silly things like pay for RV Storage. - LamanExplorerIt is not just a Ca. thing, it happens all over the country. Not everyone is fortunate to have a house lot big enough to store an RV on or be in a jurisdiction that allows it. I bet more than half of the RV's in Florida are stored offsite.
Not hard at all to understand, love RV'ing, can't park at home, store it somewhere else.
