I take it from some of the responses that being overloaded on a 3/4 ton is less of an issue than on a 1/2 ton. Is that true? Could there be issues with his rear axle down the road with so much overload or will the truck's rear end just sag more than normal?
As I said, his rear axle will NOT be overloaded. It's the exact same axle as a SRW 350 has. So, yes, his only issue will be sag with the lack of an overload spring and shorter blocks. You are also correct about a 150 being a completely different animal. It's ratings are for real and not fabricated like a 250's.
Very interesting. So I guess my concerns are unwarranted then. That's good because I did not want him to have safety issues in the future.
