- Sea_DogExplorerI have used one for years!
Matter of fact, just beginning to use the second one.
We use it exclusively to hook up the water in campgrounds.
I have to laugh at the comment concerning solder.
if your house has copper pipe, you are drinking solder.
Anyway, they work great, would not use anything else! - ependydadExplorer

I was hoping to get one to hook up to my black tank flushes.
remember that the report said that unless the hose is kept under pressure, it retracts.

Hmm, I didn't read the report. I didn't think about it retracting... just flattening.
I think my father-in-law bought one, guess I need to play with it before I buy it.
Thanks for the heads up, bumpy. - BumpyroadExplorer

- noe-placeExplorerDW and I used a new one of these yesterday for the first time while opening our pool for the season. I attached it to the end of our heavy duty rubber hose to reach the last few feet to our pool from the hydrant. When I attached the nozzle to the plastic end it leaked immediately and no matter how hard I tightened it the leaking wouldn't stop. I changed to a different nozzle and it still leaked but not as badly. The cheap plastic ends are going to hurt this product in the long run because the threads are so soft.:S

No one is saying to use it for drinking water. Most people were just interested in carrying it as a regular hose for washing, filling the dogs dish, etc.
I personally don't need an extra hose but some people here do and had asked about it.
So you won't drink out of it, but it's OK for the dogs. :h - Arizona_KidExplorer

It can't really be used for the macerator pump exit, because a leak while emptying tanks could be a disaster.
Only possible use I can think that I would use it for would be the hose that fits between two check valves that would rinse out the macerator pump. - skipncharExplorerI've never seen one that was for drinking water even. Using lead solder would make it unsuitable for drinking water purposes. So you can carry an extra hose that can't be used for potable water OR you can carry an extra potable water hose and STILL use it wash the car, squirt the dog etc.
