Question about Dicor Products

Question

I want to clean and seal the EPDM rubber roof on my TT. I have the Dicor sealer (Part 2), but am wondering if the cleaner /activator (part 1) is actually necessary. Can I just clean the roof with Dawn or something else and then apply the Part 2 sealer? Thanks

Are you asking us if you should ignore Dicor’s recommendations for its products because we know better?

I would follow the Dicor instructions. If you use Dawn or a similar product it may leave a film or residue that would interfere with the part 2 sealer.

I cleaned with acetone and applied the dicor with really good results.  Wear nitril gloves when working with acetone.

Back before Dicor came out with their own product they suggested Spic &amp; SPan.
