How many house batteries do you have? - jobythebayExplorer

The inverter does not produce power.
Battery power in Direct Current (DC) form is provided to the inverter which the converts it to Alternating Current (AC) which is the form your fridge needs to run.
Once your batteries reach a critical level the generator should kick on to recharge them.
I do not own an MH so I am assuming that your refrigerator would run at least 8 hours without compromising your batteries. Remember that is dependent on what ever drain is placed on them from other loads.
If you store in your driveway just unplug the MH turn on the fridge and see how long before the generator kicks in.
MH are not cheap and it makes no sense to produce one that is not capable of supporting itself for reasonable periods of time.
What a good idea :o We have it plugged in now so we can load it up. We will turn on the frig (I understand at least I think I do from power outages) that if the frig is full and not opened much, of course it will stay colder) but we can get a sense of how long - or we can put stuff in it and see what happens !! Thank you - B_SjulestadExplorer IIWe have the residential fridge in our 5vr. trips that take us 2-3 days without hooking up have not been a issue. The batteries run down faster and you need to run the Generator more.
Hi I am back again re: our residential frig. As our trip gets closer DH gets more nervous. It is our first MH and the residential frig through us for a loop. So a basic (maybe) question is this: About how long with the batteries last if not connected. For example, we pull over at a rest stop or Wal-Mart and don't run the generator. About when will the batteries go. I guess the inverter then automatically kicks on so in general when will we have to run the generator? Do you think we can stay somewhere for xx hours without running the generator. Thanks for your patience. Does anyone want to chaperone our trip to FL. :h - wa8yxmExplorer III

i wasn't trying to demean anybody
i was calling attention to the fact the comment about never hearing about an electric fridge in the RV didn't fly
as far as memory, mines pretty bad..i'm 66
i didn't bother to check how many posts the OP has or you either for that matter
it just seemed implausible that somebody that spends enough time here to have over 4000 posts
had No Knowledge of electric fridge in an RV, the comment caught my attention
and i did a check..If it had been a very low post number, i it would have seemed more plausible
my aploigies for offending you or peeps - JohnBoyTooExplorerSO ?!?! Why do people feel they have to demean others ?!?! This site is well known for it... and from a mod at that ?
you do know that ignorance does not mean lack of intelligence...
it just means a lack of 'exposure' to something :)
Or in my case, it means forgetting is an active process - i.e. I forget because I'm doing too much and not enough rv'ing !
