Questions about "Closed" topics

Can only moderators close topic discussions?

Why would an innocuous topic be closed? Especially when it's a valid question or concern to the original poster. And often within 10-12 replies. The picnic table tablecloth clips topic comes to mind.

Is there a "rule" for moderators (or whoever?) that in closing a topic an explanation "Why" is given. Off the cuff I only recall one closing that offered an explanation.

Really? People not camping would have more net time. I'm a lucky one 300+ days of sun so there is no season but when camper the net time is close to zero.

Since our input on RV.net needs to be "vetted" so to speak, perhaps all input should first go to the moderators for approval before being posted.

That should satisfy the rule requirements and make a truly harmonious and regimented forum. ;););)
