Following Mowin's post of adding 2nd A/C, I am also going to add a 13,500 btu non-ducted in bedroom of 5er. The players appear to be Dometic, Coleman, Advent, & Atwood. My question is does anyone know what unit is the quietest? Don't care about ease of installation, cost or anything else, just the quietest...

Of the ones you listed, I would say go with the Coleman or Dometic. The Advent is a Chinese knock off. Check reviews on line before you buy.

We had a Coleman that did not last one year, the Dometic lasted 14 years of desert heat, the Colemsn was only good for temperatures less than 85f the Dometic keept cooling even when we had 118f the interior was cold, my C has about 1 1/2 inch insulation and that helps, replaced Coleman that quit working with Dometic.navegator

Who knows who actually made the Coleman thing.

To answer your original question without making value judgments, we have owned 3 of the 4 you listed and the Coleman (@ 15K) was by far the quietest.

There are three different exhaust fan blades. A,B, and D. D being the latest. Still there is some vibration. Had to ck the mounting bracke bolts. Some were not as tight as others. Tried not to over tighten, just snug them up. Am still not completely happy. Have made several trips to the roof.

I replaced a Coleman with an Atwood 13,500 and it is much quieter.

I also recently replace an aged Dometic 15,000 btu with a new Atwood 15,000btu air conditioner/heat pump. The new unit is considerably quieter than the old one was and puts out more air.
We are very pleased with the unit.:)
